History

Through the years TAPCO has grown out of three buildings, and from a handful of employees to over 100 with the focus always being traffic safety. 

Ray Bergholz started TAPCO in 1956 in his basement and lived to see it become a major player in the traffic and parking control industry enjoying sales worldwide while staying family owned and operated. 

With most of TAPCO’s business being done with contractors, municipalities and state Departments of Transportation a strong retail presence has never really driven sales. However, over the years there have been a few experiments with radio advertising and jingles. We thought it would be fun to provide a couple of these for your enjoyment. Although exact dates have been lost to posterity, we put these two examples sometime in the late eighties.
